n Scope
This
SIRE 2.0 Familiarization Course is
intended to provide participants with an understanding of SIRE inspections for
tanker vessels and to assist ship owning and ship management companies. It
covers the significant changes and the required knowledge and understanding
with the new process as prescribed in the OCIMF’s new inspection programme
(SIRE 2.0).
This
course requires a total of eight (8)
instructional hours to cover the topics enumerated in Part B – Course Outline.
n Training
Outcomes
To provide necessary information to enable all Submitting
Companies, Programme Recipients and Vessel’s Crew to determine the relevant and
significant changes from VIQ7 to the new vessel inspection regime, the SIRE
2.0.
Specifically, at the end of the course the trainee
must be able to:

Provide adequate familiarity and knowledge with
OCIMF’s new inspection programme.

Determine the procedures and guidelines for SIRE
2.0
·
Comply with the requirements of SIRE 2.0
·
Understand the Human Factor approached with the
inspection and other response tools.
·
Improve competency on dealing with the new format
of SIRE 2.0 questionnaires.
·
Contribute efficiently to the ship in order to
obtain desirable results during SIRE 2.0
n Entry
Standard
Entry
to the course is open to all Officers and Ratings serving onboard tanker vessel.
They
must be medically fit to enable them to participate in all aspects of the
training particularly the practical exercises.
